ANALYSIS OF ROLLING RESISTANCE COEFFICIENT AT LABORATORY SCALE
Rolling resistance coefficient (RRC) is one of the important factors that affect the performance of a dump truck during haulage. This coefficient influences rolling resistance (RR) value, which is defined as an opposite force against wheel move direction. Evaluation of the RRC in a job site should be the most appropriate model. However, due to practical reasons, study of RRC in laboratory scale would be justified. Hence, simulation of this study using four wheel lorry on different types of ground was carried out. Towing speed of the four wheel lorry, road grade, total weight, and inflation pressure were the parameters observed. The result obtained from the experiment is towing force at different conditions of the observed parameters.
